Morzine

Overview
Offslope/apres ski
Big town with plenty to do for non skiers, and excellent sports centre with an indoor skating rink. For those who enjoy their contact sports a trip to an Ice Hockey fixture whilst you are there is well worth a visit. There are plenty of late night haunts and by most French resorts standards some really lively après ski bars with the Dixie bar as one of our favourites with live music. Post skiing apres takes place at La Kilkerne at Prodains, Inferno Terrace at Nyon, and Happy Hours at Ardent. Other popular haunts include l’Etale, L’Aubergade, Cafe Chaud, Action Sports, Le Coyote, Rhodos, Robisons for Mutzig and its very own micro-brewery bar Bec Janune. For those looking to enjoy alternative activities to downhill skiing, Morzine as a town is better than most. There is a good selection of cleared walks in and around the town with information booklets available from the tourist office in the town centre.
Overview
Good resort with links to Avoriaz if you are concerned about the altitude. Great destination for the long weekend market (only 1hr 30 mins from Geneva). A good resort for those mixed ability groups and for groups with non skiers. Morzine is a proper French town and is as busy in the summer as the winter. Perfect for weekend breaks.
