The Hotel Stella Alpina is the place to be for skiers and boarders looking for a convenient, comfy, homely base, right at the bottom of the home run into Sauze and just next to the Clotes chairlift. It's a family-run hotel where Caroline (an ex-pat Brit) and her loved ones have been offering high standards of service at the hotel for years.
The bedrooms feature gorgeous handmade wooden furniture and there's a welcoming bar on the ground floor with a lovely open fire. It's the perfect place for a relaxing glass of wine or a well-earned cold beer at the end of the day, or an espresso first thing in the morning to get you going.
And it's incredibly family friendly too, as they offer 'baby parking'; a new créche and sleeping area for little ones.
Food and drink
The Stella Alpina is on half board so you can expect a delicious continental buffet breakfast to set you up for a day in the Milky Way. In the evening, sit down to a three-course meal with plenty of regional specialities. Your Christmas and New Year meals are also included.
Families and kids
The Hotel Stella Alpina has really rolled out the red carpet for families. Not too surprising since it's a family-run hotel – they know just what families are looking for! They offer the quirkily named 'Baby Parking' at the neighbouring La Libellula créche. It's available for children aged 13 months to six years old and it runs from 8:30am until 5:30pm every day.
The crèche is situated at the foot of the slopes and you can drop your children off on your way up the mountain, where they will be looked after for anywhere from an hour to all day. Whatever you need!
There's also a comfy little sleeping area for little ones who need a rest, and, weather permitting, the hotel has a natural playground outside which is perfect for tobogganing, building snowmen and making snow castles. Everyone's favourite activities!
The 18 rooms here are comfortable twins finished in a traditional style, with bright reds and lots of lovely alpine wooden details everywhere. Some of the rooms come with an extra bed perfect for a little one, as do the triple rooms.
All of the rooms have flat screen satellite TV, a shower and a hairdryer. If you’re feeling a bit more extravagant, ask for a superior room – they come with a jetted bath which is just amazing.
A well positioned and friendly hotel close to the lifts and the town centre
