With the Clotes piste just across the road, you can practically ski back to the hotel. The Clotes lift is a 100 metre walk away in the morning – you'll be on the mountain in no time yet the location is still incredibly central. You won't have far to go to get to the majority of Sauze d'Oulx's offerings, with plenty of bars and shops surrounding the hotel.
The hotel itself is a standard three star offering, some of the rooms and communal spaces are a little dated (in style), the 70's bed throws are a giveaway. But the bathrooms are nicely refreshed and the whole place is spotlessly clean and perfectly comfortable. The lounge bar is our favourite spot in the hotel decked out in wood, a great big slab of it makes up the bar. It's a real mountain feel and you can grab complimentary afternoon tea here each day from 4 – 5pm.
The reception is open 24 hours, so turn up whenever you like – no getting locked out. The Italian food is pretty good if you fancy the half board option. Ask the chefs for an omelette at breakfast – made to order.
Centrally located & close to the ski schools across from the piste, this hotel is a popular choice.
