Hotel Grivola, Cervinia

If you're looking for something a little different and out of the ordinary, you have to stay at the Hotel Grivola this winter. Throughout the property you'll find a range of work by artist Gabriele Maquignaz, everything from abstract art hanging on the walls to beautifully created sculptures dotted about the place. Literally everywhere you look there's something to admire and we love the quirkiness throughout.

Rooms are really comfy, especially the beds, and they have pretty much everything you need for an enjoyable stay. If however after a few days on the mountain you're feeling the body is in need of something a little extra, head down to the spa and enjoy a nice warming sauna to soothe out any aches and pains.

Located in the centre of Cervinia you have everything you need on your doorstep with great bars and cafes just around the corner. More importantly, you're just 100 metres from the ski lifts so you can be on the mountain in no time at all. It does also mean that if you get caught up in the après at the bottom of the slopes, you don't have far to go to get home. Once you've popped your gear in the heated boot room, enjoy a drink at the bar before indulging in some local and international dishes served in the restaurant. Be sure to check out the wine list, the hotel quoting that "life is too short to drink mediocre wine" so you can be assured there are some great labels in the cellar.

Meals

A buffet breakfast will be served each morning, with hot and cold options, to get you ready for the day ahead on the slopes. When you return, enjoy a great three course evening meal with a choice of local and international dishes on offer in the hotel's lovely restaurant, which is full of character and art. This restaurant has a vibrant feel to it and is also open to the public.

Standard Twin Rooms sleep two and have a shower. All rooms come with a TV, safe and hairdryer.

Superior Twin Rooms can sleep up to four people with extra bunk beds. Rooms come with a bath and shower overhead. These rooms are on request if for more than two people.
