Baqueira Beret

Overview

The skiing in Baqueira-Beret is high in the Spanish Pyrenees, and really is an undiscovered gem. If you are fed up with the horrendous lift queues in the Alps over half term give this resort a go. The skiing is ideally suited to intermediates that want to take advantage of wide-open pistes served by a modern lift system. For experts the on piste challenges are few but the off piste area is large and remains untracked for many days.

Positive

  • Good snow record
  • Modern resort
  • Very friendly
  • Quiet during half term

Negative

  • Unattractive drab resort buildings
  • Traffic can be a problem in the resort centre

Offslope/apres ski

Pools and spa facilities in some hotels, the après ski revolves around some busy bars and restaurants.
