At Snowfinders, we are huge fans of skiing and snowboarding. In fact, we’d probably say we definitely stand out amongst the snow-junkies out there! That means, we know our stuff, of course! And, when it comes to ski holidays, there is one thing we love almost equally as much as our skiing though, and that is après-ski!

From Austrian food to dancing on tables, for us, après-ski starts from our evening meal. After all, there is nothing more important after a day on the slopes than fuelling up our bodies for recovery (or a night on the town!).

And as for the best Alpine restaurants? We know what we’re talking about! Take a look at our top three Alpine restaurants:

Chez VronyChez Vrony, Zermatt, Switzerland

Chez Vrony is a restaurant situated at 2100 metres above altitude and is undoubtedly one of the best mountain restaurants that we can think of here at Snowfinders.

Not only is Zermatt one of the best host locations (the Swiss are excellent at looking after you after all!), the restaurant has been a family tradition for over 100 years.

Chez Vrony uses its own organic ingredients, made from animals that are nourished on alpine grass. What’s more, all the produce is rustic and natural, while the restaurant’s traditional recipes, like the homemade sausage and the alpine cheese, have been passed down through generations.

Bel AirBel Air, Courchevel, France

Although this restaurant is expensive, The Bel Air is situated at the top of the Gondola in Courcheval, France and is a must-have experience of a restaurant if you’re on a ski holiday in Courcheval.

The restaurant is not cheap but comparative to other mountain restaurants in the resort, what’s more, the meals are exquisite. At Snowfinders, we describe the food as simple, generous and cooked very well.

Order the house wine and plat du jour and you’re onto a winner.

Hospiz Alm, St Anton, Austria

Austrians are definitely the best hosts in Europe and their Hospiz Alm is a restaurant definitely not to miss.

With Austrian specialities a popular option and home to one of Austria’s largest wine cellars, Hospiz Alm offers gourmet excellency as well as a cosy, well-presented atmosphere that will warm you after a day in the snow.
