Tailormade ski holidays to Champoluc make for the perfect luxury short breaks
If you are looking for a luxury Italian ski resort to ski the weekend away, then Champoluc is most definitely the ski destination for you!
The largest resort in the Monterosa area, Champoluc is entirely unspoilt. Not only that, it has stunning glacier views, uncrowded slopes and off-piste options for advanced skiers.
The Monterosa Region
Champoluc is most definitely the largest resort in the Monterosa Region, which is often described as Italy’s ‘Three Valleys’. This is because the valleys cover such a huge ski area, and are surrounded by wonderful woodland. The ski area is made up of three different towns. These are: Champoluc (on the western side), Gressoney La Trinite (in the middle) and Alagna (on the Eastern side).
Although we have mentioned towns here, the resort is extremely natural and very beautiful. Ultimately, if you enjoy breath-taking views while you’re skiing, then you should opt for a holiday in the Monterosa Region.
Champoluc
At Snowfinders, we recommend Champoluc for short breaks away. Not only does the resort become more lively and bustling at the weekend, it is a hidden gem of ski resorts and you’ll feel like you are stepping a good distance away from the daily grind at home.
Beginner skiers may find the skiing limited here, once they have mastered the nursery slopes at Crest. That said, a short break away at Champoluc may offer beginner skiers the opportunity to practice their skills in an enjoyable manner, perhaps even as a warm-up for a longer holiday.
Intermediates and advanced skiers, on the other hand, will feel in their prime in Champoluc and the resort has often been referred to as ‘heaven’ for the intermediate skier.
Expert skiers will have the sky as the limit in Champoluc, although we do recommend any off-piste skiing to be done alongside a qualified guide for safety and sense.
The après-ski is fairly quiet and generally suits those looking for a little nightlife but nothing too heavy. If you aren’t keen on the party scene, then Champoluc is for you, however, if you are looking for a heftier après-ski scene, you’ll have to look elsewhere.
The hot tub and spa are second to none and add to the luxury feel to the resort.
Snowfinders recommends
We recommend Champoluc for romantic short breaks away, or ski weekends away with friends or work colleagues. The resort really does make for a deluxe stay, particularly when you have a bathe in the hot tub after a long day on the slopes. So sit back, relax and pop open a bottle of wine, and enjoy the superb skiing Champoluc has to offer, in true luxury style!
