Chalet Hotel of the week: Le Savoie, Val d’Isere, France
Famous for the legendary Espace Killy (a huge area with 300 kms of pisted runs, stretching across to the resort of Tignes), Val d’Isere is an excellent ski resort for all levels of skier.
With its fantastically varied terrain, superb off-piste options and a huge selection of pisted runs, Val d’Isere is a ski resort that suits everyone!
From the fearsome black runs that make up the "Face" of the resort, to the lovely rolling blue runs situated at the top end of the valley, Val d’Isere is a beautiful resort that offers fantastic views and fabulous skiing.
Chalet Hotel Le Savoie
At Snowfinders, we claim that the Chalet Hotel Le Savoie is a very special addition to our Chalet Hotel collection. This is because it is our first ever "Platinum" property!
What’s more, we describe it as ‘platinum’ for numerous reasons…
Ideal Location
The Chalet Hotel Le Savoie is in an extremely convenient location, situated at the heart of Val d’Isere’s central main street, just a short walk from the Solaise Express lift.
The Solaise Express lift can take you to the Solaise/Le Fornet side of the ski area, or the Olympique gondola (for those who want to ski across towards Tignes).
A welcoming and relaxing atmosphere
The sweeping stairs of the Chalet Hotel Le Savoie will lead you from street level to the welcoming reception area and lounge, on the first floor of Le Savoie, opening into the attractive open-plan restaurant and bar.
The smart interiors make for a relaxing and modern aesthetic, combining the warmth and traditional feel of wood, local stone and fine fabrics, with stylish and sophisticated modern touches, for an elegant and comfortable atmosphere.
On the ground floor, the Chalet Hotel le Savoie features an exclusive in-house ski-hire outlet that provides a helpful and convenient service.
In addition, the Le Savoie’s extensive spa area, characterised by exotic blue and silver decorative motifs, inspires feelings of complete comfort and relaxation after a tiring, yet exciting, day out on the mountain.
A choice of accommodation
There are a range of accommodation choices from Le Savoie. These include Classique Rooms or slightly larger Deluxe Rooms, as well as two-roomed Suites, and the unique Penthouse Suite (that occupies the entire sixth floor!).
Le Savoie’s clever design enables its guests to have wonderfully flexible variations on their accommodation, for example, most suites can be booked as separate twin rooms, and some suites and rooms can be combined to create self-contained ‘super-suites’ that sleep up to 12 guests!
What’s more, every individual bedroom has its own en-suite facilities. Well, its Le Savoie after all, what else would you expect?
Excellent catering
The Chalet Hotel Le Savoie offers breakfast, an afternoon tea buffet and an evening meal, meaning that the catering is ideal for your days skiing on the slopes.
Not only will a good breakfast set you up perfectly for skiing each day, the afternoon tea buffet will be ready to welcome you back ‘home’ each day. Evening meals are served between 7.30 and 9.30pm, for your convenience, and includes Le Savoie’s slightly wider than normal choice of menu.
