AUSTRIA The SkiWelt (50/105cm) resorts had excellent snow conditions this week, with good weather on Thursday 13th December allowing more lifts and terrain to open throughout the area. Low temperatures across all Austrian resorts will ensure the fantastic snow conditions are maintained. Lech (100/130cm), Zurs (100/130cm) and St. Anton (85/125cm) enjoyed fantastic skiing in the Arlberg ski area on Thursday, with 55 lifts open across the area giving access to the excellent early season snowfall.

FRANCE French resorts are currently boasting great base depths for this time of year, with Val Thorens (160/235cm) a perfect example of this. In the Paradiski, Les Arcs (75/300cm) and La Plagne (90/155cm) are planning to open this weekend. Fantastic conditions will greet skiers and boarders when the Paradiski opens its lifts. Avoriaz (130/160cm), in the Porte du Soleil, will also open this weekend when and fresh snow is expected to fall on Friday and Saturday leaving powder skiing for opening weekend.

SWITZERLAND Conditions at the open resorts in Switzerland are fabulous after a cold week which preserved the snow. Samnaun (60/90cm) has loads of terrain open with the links over to Ischgl in Austria being fully open. More snow is expected early next week.18 of Zermatt's (90/170cm) lifts were running on Thursday 13th December. They received lots of snow earlier this week and there's powder to be found on the higher areas off piste.

ITALY There is plenty of snow across the majority of our featured Italian resorts. Those nearest to the French border are particularly good. Sauze d'Oulx (80/140cm) enjoyed clear skies on Wednesday and Thursday this week with excellent snow conditions across the area. Some of the links over to other resorts in the Milky Way are now open too. Cervinia (70/230cm) is in great shape too. All the links to Zermatt are open and only one of their lifts was closed on Thursday. This lift will open for the season on 15th December, completing the area.
