It may be the start of winter and getting colder and darker in the UK but that’s excellent news for those of us who love to ski! After all, there’s no better time to catch the amazing early season snow! And, this year, what’s even better is that we’ve got unprecedented snow depths.

Therefore, here at Snowfinders, we’ve kept our eyes open for the best places for early season snow and have put together the following list for our fellow skiers and snow worshippers.

Take a look at the 5 best resorts for early season snow. They’re available now for some excellent and enviable skiing!

Val d’Isere, France

If you’re a keen skier, you’ll probably have been to Val d’Isere, and if not, you’ll most probably have heard of this fabulous resort!

Val d’Isere is often thriving during the peak ski season and, what’s more, it is an excellent resort for the early season too!

Whether you’re an expert, beginner, intermediate or seasoned ski athlete, you’ll find Val d’Isere the perfect location for an early season ski experience!

Well-known for being home to The Espace Killy area, as well as loved for its varied terrain and high-quality snow, nobody can fault the skiing opportunities in Val d’Isere. What’s more, if you’re a fan of après-ski, you’ll love the free toffee vodkas from the Moris Pub (and, you never know, there may be more free giveaways during the early season!).

Courcheval 1850, France

Because Courcheval 1850 is one of the highest villages in the Alps, it is of course, home to amazing early season snow, and is a popular resort for early season skiers and snowboarders alike.

An expensive area that is a real hot-spot for the rich and famous, Courcheval will please beginners and intermediates with its ski slopes around the village. And, of course, the Three Valleys lift pass will suit the more advanced skiers out there.

Ischgl, Austria

Another resort that is located high up in the mountains, Ischgl is a popular resort that is often referred to as the Austrian equivalent of Courcheval 1850 and is home to great early season snow.

Here at Snowfinders, we’re confident that you’ll love Ischgl whether you are a beginner, intermediate or expert skier. What’s more, the skiing here is perfect for the whole ski season, and you’ll enjoy all-round fantastic skiing!

Zermatt, Switzerland

Zermatt really is a ‘proper’ mountain resort and therefore there is plenty of snow, even in the early season!

An excellent choice of resort for off-piste skiers, as well as intermediates and beginners, Zermatt is truly a dream resort. What’s more, its traffic free!

La Rosiere, France

La Rosiere is a lively ski resort located close to Val d’Isere. Although they are close in situation, the resorts are very different.

La Rosiere features one spacious ski slope (that offers great fun for the early season!) and is connected to La Thuile in Italy.
