Niederau/Oberau/Auffach Ski Holiday Resort
Overview
Characterised by the picturesque scenery and friendly atmosphere, these family resorts are situated in a popular area of the Kitzbüheler Alps known as the Wildschönau valley. The ski area is ideal for beginners and is also a perfect confidence building resort for aspiring intermediates. Now that Auffach is joined to Alpbach at Inneralpbach the ski area has almost doubled in size.
The resort is excellent for families as well as everyone who is up for the real winter experience - from Christmas markets (December) to sleigh rides, winter walks and more. The Wildschönau valley is a true winter wonderland and with so many different ways to experience it, a great choice for non-skiers too.
Free with your guest card you can take the ski bus which links Niederau to the villages of Oberau, Mühltal and Auffach along the valley to enjoy a variety of winter activities: • winter walking - escape from the bustle of the ski pistes and discover the peace and tranquility of breathtaking mountain scenery with 40km of cleared pathways • nordic snow walking - this up and coming popular sport can be enjoyed in the winter too, with 3 circular winter trails in the Wildschönau area this is a great way to explore the surrounding countryside • cross country skiing - there are 50km of trails in the Wildschönau area including a 20km track from Niederau Penning to Oberau, fantastic exercise in stunning scenery • tobogganing - the 5km toboggan run from the mid-station of the Schatzberg gondola back down to the village of Auffach is great fun for all the family.
