Skiing is a funny old game; if you have very young pre-skiing age children you aren't going to get much, if any, skiing done unless you book childcare. Even if your children can ski a little, by the time you have dropped them off at ski school you will have a window of around 2.5 hours before you have to pick them up again - which isn't long. For that reason the British childcare model has taken off with children being accompanied to ski school and then picked up again after lessons, brought back and fed before having a fun filled afternoon of outdoor and indoor activities.
