Telluride
Overview
Getting to Telluride will involve taking two or three flights or a 300 mile transfer from Denver, but once you`re there Telluride has an amazing old Wild West atmosphere in the town (Butch Cassidy did his first Bank Robbery here). The name comes from the wild west days when lost travellers would enquire where they were heading and the locals would say "To hell you ride". The grid system is much alike Aspen. The skiing has a lot to offer intermediates and there is enough to keep an expert happy with some difficult double blacks. Beginners are looked after in the Mountain Village area of the resort. Although not a huge ski area this is an excellent resort with a true Western feel to it.
Offslope/apres ski
Plenty of entertainment for the non-skier and quite an animated après ski scene centred on some lively town bars.
