Grindelwald Ski Holiday Resort

Overview

Part of the Jungfrau mountain range with a wonderful backdrop of the stunning Eiger mountain. Grindelwald is a traditional Swiss chocolate box village with an old cog mountain railway line. the scenery and village charm are right up there but convenience for slope access is a little less favourable.

The area has 213 kms of marked piste and includes the neighbouring resorts of Murren and Wenegn. Queues can be troublesome and this may explain why it has fallen out of favour with teh Brits in recent years. The clientele tends to be of a more mature nature nature and of thiiose that wish to pootle around on skis and enjoy a winter break rather than the hard core. their are lots of treelined runs making the area great in a white out and teh apres ski scene has improved in recent years.

Offslope/apres ski

Apres ski is lively with live music and dancing available for those that want it. There is plenty to do off the slopes with toboggan runs, a sports centre and an ice rink.

Overview

Stunning scenery and a traditional feel to the town - a welcome change from some of the high mountain French "Ski Factories".
