The excellent Hotel Spinne is a modern and stylish property that offers a high-quality experience and stunning views. The modern country house-style property, with its timeless design and familial atmosphere, is located at the foot of the Eiger’s north face and in the middle of the glacier village of Grindelwald.
All the 43 bedrooms are comfortable and well-furnished, many with balconies that offer magnificent views of the stunning Eiger. In addition to the lovely rooms, the hotel also provides various ways to help you unwind on your ski holiday. The Alpin Wellness, for one, is the ideal spot to spend a few hours in after a long day on the mountain. You can choose to spend your time in the outdoor swimming pool that's heated to 34 degrees and has impressive views of the Eiger and Wetterhorn mountains. Or relax in the sauna, steam bath and herbal bath, then immerse yourself in the warming waters of the whirlpool. If you want to indulge further, there’s a menu of massages on offer too.
To begin the day, there's a range of hot and cold options on the buffet breakfast. And with show cooking available every morning, the chef will prepare fresh omelettes and eggs to order. When dinner time rolls around, you’ll be treated to meals at the lovely Rotisserie Restaurant, where candlelight and good music create the perfect ambiance. Their 4-course evening menus offer traditional, local options to give you a real taste of the Alps. If you want to try something different, you can pay extra to dine at the Mercato Ristorante, which serves up typical Italian cuisine like pizzas, pastas and meats, as well as delicious desserts to satisfy that sweet tooth.
Once you’re well and truly stuffed, you might want to head to the Lounge – its open fire makes it a peaceful oasis for a digestif, or maybe an aperitif – it’s up to you. Alternatively, the Espresso Bar is a more laid-back option that’s popular with guests and locals alike. If you fancy something more lively once the night is in full flow, head down to the hotel’s Mescalero Disco with great music, lots of drinks and, most importantly, a friendly atmosphere – it’s known to be one of the best party venues in Grindelwald.
As is custom in many Swiss hotels, please be aware that no bathing attire is allowed in the spa and wellness area.
