Crans Montana
Overview
Crans Montana is the amalgamation of two towns whose centres are a mile apart. It actually has the feel of a small stylish city with Crans being the more exclusive part. there are numerous swanky boutiques, coffee shops, bars, and even art galleries that make this a playground for the rich and famous. if you wish to escape teh hustle and bustle of the city life then there are wooden areas and lakes that surround both bases.
The skliing has some of the best scenery in the Alps and the fact that it is south facing make its ideal for the non skiers looking to top up their tans. The downside is that last season snow can at times rapidly perish as we enter the end of March/beginning of April.
With 140km of piste it isnt a mega resort, but it offers enough for most skiers for a week long trip. There is a decent mixture of Alpine and meadow skiing and at 1500m this isnt a low resort. beginners and intermediates are very well catered for, however, experts will need to head off-piste for their kicks, and Crans Montana does have some serious off-piste too!
Accommodation is mainly hotel based and again the top end of teh market are very well provided for.
