Hotel Cristallo, Canazei
- indoor pool with hot tub (under 14s must be supervised by an adult)
- spa with Finnish sauna
- steam room
- aromatic showers
With its excellent restaurant and fab facilities, it’s not hard to see why the Cristallo gets rave reviews year after year. It also gets top marks for the staff, who are always ready to go the extra mile to make you feel at home, from remembering your après drink order to sorting an extra pillow for your room.
There’s a mix of styles when it comes to the décor. The dining room and bar have that classic alpine look – think lots of wood and warm red tones. Head upstairs, and there’s a fresh modern vibe in the bedrooms, with little nods to the alpine setting, like bedside tables made from chunky logs.
As for extras, you get plenty of bang for your buck. Drift between the sauna and steam room in the spa or enjoy some leisurely lengths in the pool. The soft play and mini climbing wall in the games room will tick the box for families. And then when the evening meal rolls around, sample regional favourites like dumplings and polenta stew – and there’s an excellent wine list too.
