Hotel Cristallo, Val di Fassa

As soon as you arrive at the Hotel Cristallo you’ll feel the warmth and genuine hospitality form all of the staff. This is a simple mountain hotel with a prime sunny spot in Canazei. Head straight for the bar in the evening and watch the sun set over the Marmolada, the Dolomites highest peak. The location means you’ll be a short stroll from town where there are lots of nice bars, restaurants and shops. There’s a resort bus stop just outside which runs to and from the main Belvedere gondola throughout the day. It's very convenient if you don’t fancy the 600 metre walk in ski boots and the hotel offer discounted weekly bus tickets too. For cross-country skiers the loop is just behind the hotel.

It’s decorated in a traditional alpine style throughout, with lots of local wood. In the restaurant you’ll be well looked after with tasty, authentic, local dishes that would get anyone’s appetite going, especially after days out on the mountains. The desserts are all homemade. We couldn’t resist the apple strudel, it’s a real treat! You’ll also have the chance to taste some of the region's best wines from the Cristallo’s very own cellar. All of the rooms are spacious, bright and contemporary, with wood paneling and balconies. Perfect for moments of relaxation. There’s also the spa to rest up tired muscles, with a Finnish sauna and steam room or the indoor pool, with a built in whirlpool.

Meals

Begin your day well with an authentic breakfast. The buffet each morning has a wide selection of jams, natural yoghurt, fresh bread, cereals, freshly baked croissants, homemade cakes, cheeses, cold cuts and even scrambled eggs. All of this is accompanied by a stunning alpine view!

In the evening, there's no need to venture far for good food. Half board here means a tasty three course dinner, with choices, plus a buffet of starters and salads. The food served has strong ties with the Ladin culinary tradition, with simple fresh ingredients, expertly cooked by the chef and best enjoyed with a glass of wine. Expect hearty mountain food like Canederli (dumplings) filled with cheese, herbs or meat, which are delicious. Deserts are all home made, like apple strudel, a true regional culinary tradition. Plenty to keep you fueled for log days out on the mountains. Once a week they hold a typical Trentino dinner, where you can learn more about the local culinary traditions.

Wine Cellar

The Cristallo has its very own wine cellar with a great selection of regional varieties. Typical Trentino wines, Teroldego and Marzemio reds and superb whites like Pino Blanco and Chardonay. The staff here will be very happy to make recommendations.

Twin Rooms are about 20m² and can sleep up to four people with a single or double sofa bed. These rooms have a balcony. All rooms have shower, TV, safe, hairdryer and telephone.
