Hotel Charmant Petit Lac, Champoluc

The Hotel Au Charmant Petit Lac is almost brand new - it first opened its doors in 2019 and has recently been upgraded to five stars. It's a modern mountain lodge that's just a short stroll from the Route Ramey, Champoluc's main street. It's really convenient for accessing the slopes, with the Crest gondola about 300 metres away, your gateway to the beautiful Monterosa ski area. You'll soon see how every single aspect of this hotel has been carefully thought out. Built ecologically using sustainable materials, like locally sourced wood. Uniquely, they are only operating using renewable energy, so by staying here you'll be helping to keep the mountains white.

The cosy interior with an open fire gives a warm ambiance to come back to after a day out on the mountains. We loved heading the lounge bar area, where they've got a well stocked bar, perfect for a bit of après. When it comes to dinner you'll be well taken care of with the hotel's new dining experience, giving you a choice of what and where to eat with three separate locations including in the hotel, at the hotel owners own Bistro close by or on the mountain at Vieux Crest. Whatever you decide, its all included in the cost.

The spacious bedrooms stand out with their fresh feel and mountain views. Just imagine the sound of the Evacon River flowing past as you soak up the views from your balcony. You need to make sure you spend some time in the spa, too. The sauna, steam rooms, sensory showers and whirlpools are the perfect antidote to any aches and pains and the pool stays open until 10pm so you can even go for an evening dip.

The Spa - the hotel's impressive spa and pool is available daily. The pool is open between 11am - 10pm (children under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult and can only use the pool between 11am-5pm). The spa facilities are open between 2pm-5pm and are for adults only.

The spa has a Finnish sauna, Turkish bath, sensory showers, Scottish shower, ice waterfall and a relaxation area. Massages and treatments are available (pay locally). The indoor heated pool has hydro jets, counter current swimming, jacuzzi, kniepp path and relaxation area.

Meals

For breakfast there's plenty of choice from the buffet. The continental offering includes fresh bread, cheeses, cold cuts, cereals, fruit as well as freshly brewed coffee and tea. There's also hot options to choose from. If that's not enough to get you fueled for a day on the slopes then you can select from the optional extras you can order from the menu which are payable locally.

New this season is the hotel's special dining experience whereby guests have the option of three separate dining locations. The first is in the hotel's beautiful restaurant where you'll be treated to a three course meal, with lots of great choices. The kitchen embraces the traditions and flavours of the Aosta Valley. To accompany such great cuisine, make sure to look at the wine list as the cellar full of great choices, so be sure to ask for recommendations to suit your taste.

The second dining location is just 100 metres away at the hotel owners own Bistro, specialising in rich fondue, grill and pizza, perfect if you are after a spot of traditional Italian food while on holiday.

Last by by no means least is the Vieux Crest, a mountain restaurant serving up inventive traditional food in a wonderful location. We don't want to give to much away but we know that you wont be disappointed.

If you're travelling with children the hotel can offer early meals, 30 minutes before the main meal, for them. Please just let us know at the time of booking if you would like this arranged.

Classic Twin Rooms are 22m² and sleep up to three people with extra bed being a single. All rooms have balconies with delightful mountain views. They have a shower, TV, tea & coffee making facilities, safe, minibar and hairdryer.

Superior Rooms are 30m² sleep up to four people with a double sofa bed.

Luxury Junior Suites are 35m² sleep up to three people with a single sofa bed. Rooms have a bath or shower and a lounge. These rooms are available on request, please call to book.
