Hotel Petit Palais, Cervinia

The Petit Palais is a great-value slopeside hotel with beautiful views of the Matterhorn, in Italy's top ski resort. It sits at the end of Cervinia's 8km-long Ventina run and intermediates can ski almost to the door. The Plan Maison cable car is only metres from the hotel and the resort centre is a 10-minute downhill walk. For getting mountain-ready, you don't have to go far as the hire shop is located within the hotel. The  Petit Palais is a popular choice for families, groups, and those looking to watch the pennies.

While the rooms are a little basic, they are clean and comfortable, and have all the necessities for a great base during your holiday. If you want to wake up to stunning views over the surrounding mountains and town, make sure you choose a room with a mountain view.

The friendly and sociable bar and lounge are just the ticket for sharing tales of your day on the mountain, or gaze out over magnificent Matterhorn views. Often hosting quiz nights, or just to play pool or a family board game, the evenings in the hotel are sure to be great fun.

This excellent value half-board option is great for keeping costs down and offers home-cooked hearty meals each day. Begin with a hot and cold buffet breakfast, then round off your day with a 4-course meal accompanied by complimentary wine, water and soft drinks.

The Petit Palais is in a great location for getting out on the mountain in a morning. The main Plan Maison gondola and cable car are just 50m from the hotel. For those in ski school, the meeting point is just a 12-minute ride up to the top of the gondola – not far with the kids’ ski equipment each morning. From the top of Plan Maison, you can explore the wider ski area, and is a great way for heading over to Zermatt. The town centre is a 10-minute downward walk from the hotel. You’ll find a great selection of bars, restaurants, and for those looking to party – Sound and Gasoline nightclubs too.

This hotel is currently being fully renovated. Some of the images shown are artist’s impressions. The renovation work is due to be finished before the start of the Winter season, and we will add new images when it is complete.

With lots of narrow streets, coach access in Cervinia can be limited. When you arrive in resort, the coach will drop you off at a central location in resort. From here, you’ll leave your luggage with us – we’ll sort out all the logistics of transporting your things to your accommodation – before heading off on a 10-15 minute walk up to the Petit Palais. Make sure you wear some sturdy shoes and warm clothing – it can get a bit snowy underfoot.
