Le Chamois d’Or apartments, Val Thorens

Perfect for families, the Chamois d’Or Apartments offer a great base to eat and sleep in between tackling the slopes of Val Thorens and the Three Valleys.

In typical French ski resort fashion, the apartments are simply decorated, but they’ve got all the amenities you need for a week in the mountains – including a kitchenette with oven, hobs, fridge and dishwasher. Free WiFi is included too, so you can keep in touch with home.

Self-catering is easy thanks to the small supermarket downstairs – or you can skip cooking and try the onsite restaurant, which has a south-facing terrace with excellent views. There’s also a lounge and play area, a sports shop and a laundry room, plus a lively pub just around the corner.

And the best part? You’ve got direct access to the slopes from the onsite boot room. Just step out the door and ski straight down to the drag lift or nearby Peclet cable car. The apartments are right in the centre of Val Thorens, so you can go for a wander after the lifts close to scope out the bars, restaurants and shops in resort.

Location

Ski-in, ski-out. 2 minutes' walk to the resort centre and a 2 minutes' walk to the ski school meeting point.

Meals

Self-catering apartment with kitchenette facilities · optional upgrade to half board includes: buffet breakfast and 3-course set menu evenings meal including Savoyard evening (drinks not included). All meals are taken in the onsite pizzeria.

All apartments have a kitchenette with oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge, coffee maker and kettle; bathroom, separate WC, flatscreen TV and WiFi. Local taxes and towels are included.

Studio (approx. 24m²) – sleeps 1-4: living area with double sofa bed or pull-out twin beds and entrance hall with bunk beds.

1 bedroom apartment (approx. 30m²) – sleeps 1-6: double bedroom, living area with pull out twin beds and entrance hall with bunk beds.

Please note: You’re responsible for leaving the apartment clean and tidy, and a cleaning kit is provided for an extra charge of approx. €5 per apartment. End-of-stay cleaning is also available and is paid for locally at a supplement, which varies depending on the size of the apartment.

Linen is included, but you’ll need to make and strip the beds yourself, or pay approx. €7.50 per person to have the beds made up for your arrival.
