NEW ENSUITE FACILITIES IN ALL THREE DOWNSTAIRS ROOMS FOR DECEMBER 2019
We are delighted to report that the owner of Angelique is remodelling the three downstairs bedrooms so that they all have ensuite facilities. The work is being done during summer 2019 and will make a huge difference to our guests.
Angelique is no ordinary chalet. It is a highly unusual, extremely spacious property. We’ve seen some Alpine accommodation in our time but never anything quite like Angelique. It reminds us of a mini stately home or an English country house. You half expect Hercule Poirot to come up the oak staircase, assemble all the guests in the magnificent lounge and ask them where they’ve been skiing all day…and why one of their number is missing!
Angelique is sumptuously furnished, very generously proportioned and has a thoroughly relaxing feel about it. The living areas are extremely spacious, classy and comfortable. The large log fireplace invites you and your friends to gather round with pre dinner drinks and fib about the runs you skied that day. The cosy library off the lounge is also home to a DVD player in case you just want to turn off completely.
There are 6 ensuite bedrooms. The top floor master suite is huge, with its own lounge area, a bath and a separate shower. This room is worth fighting for…but the living and dining areas are so comfortable and spacious that a week in any room here is treat.
For those who like an extra bit of exercise (!!) there’s a well kitted out gymnasium. For the less energetic amongst us there’s a very sociable steam room which uses the same top quality materials as the bathrooms.
Maison d’Angelique is also well located on a very peaceful back road just 3 minutes walk from the lifts in La Daille. The almost constant Val d’Isere bus stops less than 2 minutes from the chalet and right next door is Vieille Maison, one of Val d’Isere’s better restaurants. Pretty handy, eh?
Your day starts with freshly brewed tea or coffee (don’t worry, we bring real teabags from the UK) and a spread of fresh crusty baguette and jams, yoghurt, fruit and cereals on the table. The cooked breakfast menu changes every day but includes bacon, sausages, eggs, French toast, grilled tomato, succulent mushrooms, Heinz baked beans…
Once you’ve returned from your tough day on the slopes, homemade afternoon tea is served and favourites range from classic treats such as scones with cream and jam to squidgy brownies or raspberry and white chocolate cupcakes. In the evening we let our experienced hosts use their imaginations and the fantastic fresh produce we have to create a mouthwatering 3-course menu for the week.
Unlimited red, rosé and white wines (from bottles, not boxes!) are served through dinner, (with coffee and chocolates in the comfy seats after your meal!)
Please note that we are making some changes for the 2019/20 season. In line with other chalet operators we are moving to 5 days catering.
We will be adding canapés served with fizz on four more nights so these will now be served on each catered evening.
A wonderful chalet in Val d’Isere a superb property that will prove extremely popular.
