St Martin-De-Belleville Ski Holiday Resort

Overview

St Martin-de-Belleville is a pretty, traditional village with easy access to the entire Three Valley system. It is relatively inexpensive compared to the rest of The Three Valleys and still retains it's original charm. St Martin is an authentic mountain village, steeped in tradition where original wood & stone barns nestle against the mountainside and farmhouse cheese is still made. Yet it also has a cosmopolitan feel with an unusually good range and quality of restaurants (including a Michelin listed & starred one), a mountain spa, and excellent ski schools including ESF and Ski New Generation. An efficient 8 person gondola and fast lift take you up to the top and from here you can easily access either Meribel or Les Menuires. At the same height as Meribel, St Martin is picturesque and unspoilt, with endless skiing on tap; but............ ssshhhh don’t tell everyone! Along with an extensive selection of expert skiing throughout The Three Valleys, there are some great off-piste areas immediately around St-Martin. Intermediates will find plenty to keep them occupied both locally and throughout the area. The red Jerusalem run is a fast with a decent vertical - it's a blast to do from top to bottom. Beginners are a little more limited in their choice as the nursery slopes are small and there are not many green runs to progress to. Although slopes do face west in general, the snow making facilities are good and the runs back to resort are kept open. This traditional backwater village is some top some stunning catered "gastro" chalets.

Offslope/apres ski

There is a great selection of restaurants in the village catering for all tastes and budgets. Skiers often use the village itself as a lunch time stop but there is also a good selection of mountain restaurants too. There are a couple of bars but not so many bars with live music. Although there are not many activities for the non-skier, the tourist office is happy to help arrange dog sledding and cross country excursions.
