Chalet Brio, Samoens

Situated on the edge of a small hamlet called L’Etelley, just across the river from Samoens, in a great location for both summer and winter holidays in the mountains and close to the main lifts up from Samoens, Morillon and Vercland. Chalet Brio has been designed and built with lots of light, space and comfort in mind, filled with favourite antiques and paintings mixed with contemporary furnishings, so that it feels both lived in and comfortable. Accommodation: With four en suite bedrooms on the ground floor, all with French windows opening into the gardens, and a large fifth bedroom in the eaves, which links to an annexe ideal for children or extra family members, we can comfortably take up to 16 guests. Upstairs on the first floor you’ll find a big open plan living room and dining room with two large east and west facing balconies looking out over the meadows and woods on one side and a really impressive view over the rooftops towards Mont Criou on the other. Inside, the woodburning stove keeps you warm when the temperature drops, and you can flop into the large comfy sofas or find a quiet space to read. The dining table seats 16 and there’s a very well equipped kitchen. There’s also satellite TV, a DVD, a Bose music system with iPod connection, a separate games area with a Wii and wifi throughout. All the heating and hot water comes from a ground geothermal system, so there is lots of hot water on tap. Bedrooms & bathrooms: All the bedrooms are individually decorated, the beds have good quality mattresses, down duvets and smooth cotton sheets, all the bathrooms have decent size towels, heated towel rails and underfloor heating.

Bedroom 1: Ash A double room with two linking single beds, west facing aspect and a walk in shower

Bedroom 2: Oak A double room with king size bed and an alcove with bunk beds, bathroom with bath and shower over, north facing aspect with a lovely view of the southern slopes of Samoens

Bedroom 3: Spruce A double room with walk in shower, north facing aspect to the southern slopes

Bedroom 4: Birch A double room with bathroom with bath and shower over, east facing aspect, from here you can lie in bed and look towards Mt Criou.

Bedroom 5: Douglas Our largest bedroom in the eaves of the chalet, with two zip linked single beds, two bunk beds and a bathroom with bath and shower over. With its own west facing balcony you can enjoy the lovely views over the meadows. On the large mezzanine landing there is a separate area for play and relaxation and space for an extra bed. Attached to bedroom 5 is an additional annexe, with bunk beds, ideal for children.
