Overview

Our beautiful Chalet Le Pousse Caillou sits centrally on a large plot in the Mussillon area of Méribel. It is in an area of large exclusive chalets but still only a five minute walk from the town centre if you decide on a relaxed stroll into Méribel. The chalet is on the same small road as our very popular Chalet Phoebe and Chalet Amarena so works really well if you have larger groups wanting to holiday close to each other. Le Pousse Caillou epitomises a luxurious yet traditional alpine escape. All interior fixtures and fittings are of high quality and combine contemporary features with warm traditional chalet interiors. Lots of beautiful wood has been used in this sophisticated property.

Location

Méribel sits in the Les Allues Valley at the heart of the world’s largest skiing area, Les Trois Vallées (The Three Valleys). As part of one of the best ski areas in France, Méribel is a popular choice for skiers of all abilities.

Méribel and Mottaret are the two main resorts in this valley and both are extremely popular with British skiers, possibly because a British man called Peter Lindsay founded the resort in 1938. However the vast skiing area and the unspoilt alpine charm of Méribel are the most likely reasons for its enduring appeal among experienced skiers from all over the world. Méribel is a very pretty resort, unlike some of its purpose-built rivals and retains a traditional feel. Nearly all of the buildings are quaint, timber-framed chalets in a Savoyard wood and stone style.

Méribel has an abundance of boutique shops and a good selection of après ski bars and restaurants. The bi-weekly street market is worth a visit for local produce and souvenirs. Méribel extends from the Mussillon area at 1450m to Le Rond Point at 1700m. This means that the village is quite spread out but there is a regular bus service if you need to get about when not on skis.

Meals

A full breakfast spread with daily specials on five mornings plus an array of cereals, pastries, yoghurt & fruit compote and fruit juices. On two mornings a continental breakfast is set out for our guests with plenty of juice, cereals, pastries, yoghurt & compotes as well as fruit, avocado, sliced hams and cheeses which will set you up beautifully for a day on the slopes.

Canapés and a glass of delicious award winning Antech Blanquette de Limoux on five evenings, followed by a freshly prepared three course dinner with cheeseboard to follow.

Afternoon tea laid out for you on your return from the slopes each day, including homemade cake or biscuits.

Rooms

The bedrooms are finished to a remarkably high standard and obtain a contemporary and luxurious feel. All bedrooms are generously-sized and either have a walk-in shower or bath.

Bedrooms one and two are located on the ground and first floor and the master bedroom plus two family suites occupy the second floor. The master bedroom is capacious and light, flaunting elements of both finesse and comfort; with ample storage, a stylish walk-in shower and a desk/office area. Sliding doors open onto the terrace, where the breath-taking valley views are in abundance.

An unrivalled feature of Le Pousse Caillou are the two family suites, accommodating two adults and two children in each room. Although slightly on a smaller scale in comparison to the other bedrooms, both rooms have a fixed double bed, with one bedroom having an interconnecting children’s bedroom and the other, a trendy mezzanine floor accessed via a ladder/staircase.

Our View

Ideally situated and perfect for families and groups of friends seeking a luxurious stay in a picturesque resort of Meribel, the chalet provides elements of excellence and sophistication.
