The best placed chalet in Méribel. No ifs, no buts. We always thought our Chalet Boua next door was unbeatable but we’ve managed to squeeze closer to the base of the Tougnete bubble lift and Truite ski run which are both outside the front door. This wonderful chalet sits above Les Castors piste side restaurant and terrace (don't worry, it only opens for lunch now so no noise in the evenings). There's even an outdoor hot-tub on the balcony - perfect to relax and watch the world go by after skiing.
So, unbelievable skiing location and a two minute walk across the piste to Chaudanne and the resort centre bars and restaurants. Inside it’s got oodles of character and bundles of space, check out the huge stone fireplace, but frankly the facilities can’t really be called cutting edge. Some of the loos aren’t en suite (across the hall) and two of the bedrooms share a bathroom. When this property was built no one cared much about modern convenience, just old fashioned ‘hygge’ as they say in Denmark, ‘well being’ to you and me.
If you choose to swerve the bling, like a little bit of proper Alpine character and are not too fussed about a loo at the end of your bed then this is definitely the home for you. It feels like one of those James Bond huts lost on the mountain with stone walls, wooden ceiling, a roaring fire and lots of fur. Three couples or two families at a squeeze, this the hottest old chalet on the block. Absolutely unique.
For guests staying in Chalet Chaudanne we recommend the ski hire service from Northface, who provide an in chalet fitting service. Once you are settled and have sampled the afternoon tea that awaits you on arrival a member of the Northface team will visit and fit all your equipment without you having to leave the comfort of your chalet. At the end of the week your equipment will be collected from the boot room, so no need to carry it back to the shop. We are confident you’ll get the very best of service from the Northface team.
Continental breakfast with a cooked option on 6 mornings. Afternoon tea will be left in the chalet for you to help yourself to freshly made cake or biscuits, bread & jams, selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate. Canapés on the first and last evening 3 course evening meal (6 nights) followed by cheese board and coffee and a choice of red and white wine is served throughout dinner.
We do understand a holiday can be stressful, particularly if you, or one of your family, have food allergies or special dietary requirements. Our mission is simple; to make your holiday as enjoyable as possible. So, to that end we will do everything we can to cater for your needs. Whilst our menu is planned, it is not set in stone and we will always do our best to accommodate preferences and requests.
Unfortunately, most ski resorts simply do not offer the huge selection of Gluten, Lactose or Dairy free products available in UK supermarkets. If you have any dietary requests, food intolerances or food allergies then let us know as soon as possible and we will do our upmost to plan the menu to suit your needs.
In order to plan the menu and source relevant ingredients it is important that you advise us at the time of booking (or at least two weeks before you depart for your holiday). If you have any questions or concerns, one of our Executive Chefs would be more than happy to speak with you personally to give you confidence that we can deliver a chalet holiday to remember.
Our chalet hosts serve high tea for children around 5.30-6pm. We require all children under 12 to take high tea unless you book the whole chalet. If you book the whole chalet and would rather your children eat with you later then please advise us at the time of booking along with any dietary requirements your child may have.
Our children's menus are very adaptable and the chalet host will discuss with you on arrival to tailor meals to your children's liking.
