Chalet Matsuzaka Hotel and Spa, La Rosiere

Chalet Matsuzaka is a private, small luxury chalet, inspired during the owners' stay in Japan. After visiting the Japanese ski resorts, they became enamoured with the way in which the Japanese chalets and inns are run, as well as the exquisite touches making après-ski just that extra bit more special.

Chalet Matsuzaka (pine tree slope) is run as a Japanese inn with a calm and zen atmosphere. Guests are kindly asked to remove outdoor shoes before entering the chalet (slippers are provided) and bathrobes are available in all rooms in order to take the spa.

Chalet Matsuzaka is located approximately 200 metres from the nearest ski slope and the high-speed chair-lift in the Les Eucherts area of La Rosiere 1850. Skiing back to the chalet is possible from the Papillon piste. La Rosiere 1850 centre is a short 10 minute walk through the forest or a 5 minute hop in the free shuttle bus.

Chalet Matsuzaka’s Japanese Spa featuring a “Rotemburo” (outside hot pool), an “Ofuro” (inside hot pool) and sauna, was built for the ultimate in relaxation in the mountains. Open from 4pm to 8pm, the spa is for the exclusive use of our own hotel customers and externally booked massage packages and has both open and private sessions for our guests to experience the meditation and relaxation of a ryokan.

In our Spa, we have two beautiful treatment rooms to offer massages and beauty treatments.

Meals

At Chalet Matsuzaka we offer a sumptuous 3 or 4 course daily menu using only the freshest ingredients, with a truly international theme, and served with our own hand picked wine list from the best regions of France and Italy.

We would be pleased to discuss with you any dietary needs and special requests.

Winter – reservation is necessary before 10a.m. the same day, closed two evenings per week (only one evening during High Season).

Hayashi

Two bedrooms in a Japanese “Washitsu” style with tatami inlays, shoji style curtains, bamboo parquet and decorations from Japan. One 2x90x200cm TWIN room (accessible for people with reduced mobility) and one KING SIZE DOUBLE room. Opposite the Matsuzaka Spa on the 1st floor, the two “Hayashi” (forest rooms) are 25m² and are equipped with a shower room with toilet and sink and south facing terraces (the TWIN has a limited view).

Savoyarde

Five typically mountain style bedrooms with a more generous living area with different configurations for two, three and up to a family of four. All double beds are KING SIZE.

Located on the 2nd floor, these five spacious Savoyard bedrooms (35m² – 45m²) all have south facing balconies with outstanding views. The large en-suite bathrooms are equipped with shower, bath and twin basins and a separate toilet room.

Mansarde

Three 3rd floor magnificent attic rooms taking full advantage of the height under the roof with beamed ceilings, large windows and large terrace balconies. South facing with exceptional 180°views over the valley from Ste Foy in the east, the Tignes barrage to La Plagne ski area to the west.

“Snowdon” n°8 – a double room with KING SIZE bed (40m²) for 2 adults.
“Ben Nevis” n°9 – a duplex suite with a KING SIZE double bedroom (40m²) with a separate mezzanine (12m²) with 2 single beds (90×200) for a further 2 children or 2 adults.
“Scafell Pike” n°10 – a very spacious suite (40m²) with a QUEEN SIZE double and a separate curtained off area “the den” for two or three small children (under 10s) with futon style beds (80×190).

All rooms are equipped with large bathrooms featuring whirlpool baths, large showers, twin stone basins and space to relax and unwind.

Room amenities include an expresso machine, bathrobes, hairdryer, large flat-screen TVs airing free-to-access UK satellite TV channels (French digital TV), DVD player, tea & coffee making facilities, mini-bar, room safe, as well as WIFI internet access. Baby beds are available.
