Grand Hotel des Alpes, Chamonix Valley

Situated in the centre of town on the main pedestrian street of Chamonix, Rue du Dr Paccard, the Grand Hotel des Alpes is in a perfect central location for skiers in Chamonix. Both the the Plan Praz ski lift and Brévent area as well as the Aiguille de Midi cable car are about 600 metres away, and on your doorstep are the vibrant cafes, bars, restaurants and haute couture of this famous ski resort. 

Built in 1840 in the centre of Chamonix the hotel has always been a grand symbol of Savoyard hospitality. Entirely renovated in 2004 the hotel has blended a robust traditional warmth with elegant, contemporary aesthetics. The lounge area is a perfect place to sit and relax at the end of a day on the mountain. You can read a book, play a board game or listen to music around the fireplace whilst you recharge your batteries for the evening. If you still have some energy after skiing, the wellness centre offers a wave-swimming pool and Jacuzzi, as well as Turkish bath, sauna and steam rooms. Spa treatments are available too (payable in resort).
The Grand Hotel take breakfast very seriously and offer 'the most important meal of the day' in bountiful style in the restaurant or out on the terrace in the garden (in fine weather) which sits on the banks of the river, offering stunning views of Mt Blanc. 
There is a ski room and boot dryers available for guests and the hotel also operates a private skier shuttle to the lifts.
