Scheffau

Overview
Scheffau is a pretty, rustic village and is one of the most attractive in the area. It is well positioned on the SkiWelt and has a good selection of snowsure pistes. For experts there are some good long pistes but nothing too challenging. The entire area is ideal for intermediates with lots of great cruising reds, blues, and mogul fields - all easily accessible from the resort. The nursery slopes are in the village away from speeding experienced skiers and from here they can progress up the mountain. The skiwelt is just amazing for mixed ability parties. Both the ski schools and the kindergartens have extremely good reputations.
Offslope/apres ski
There is little in the way of après-ski and restaurants are in the hotels, but there is organised tobogganing and bowling as well as a natural ice rink and sleigh rides Some tour operators offer day trips to Innsbruck and Salzburg.
