Then after a session on the mountain, treat yourself to some pampering in the hotel wellness area and rooftop pool. Prefer après drinks to saunas and steam rooms? Find a spot by the fire and share slope stories with a drink, or head onto the sun terrace and enjoy snow-covered views with your tipple instead.
It’s top marks when it comes to mealtimes too. Kick things off with a buffet breakfast, filled with everything you need to keep you going ‘til lunch, from cereals to freshly cooked omelettes. And in the evening, savour four courses of top-notch local cuisine – they’ll even organise earlier sittings if you’re staying with younger ones.
Location
Up at 1,930m, Obergurgl’s one of the highest villages in the Alps, so it’s hard to beat for reliable snow conditions. The ski area packs in plenty of variety too, from gentle nursery slopes, tree-lined trails and wide-open pistes.
