Maria Alm
Overview
Combined with the resorts of Hintermoos, Hinterthal, Dienten and Mulbach, Maria Alm is part of the Hochkonig ski area, it is a charming and quiet village and compared to the better known areas that British skiers frequent it is wonderfully quiet. The scenery is simply stunning and this ski area offers over 150km of piste. Expert skiers should not overlook this area as the off-piste is challenging and abundant. The ski area isnt overly populated with Brits so there is a little novelty factor in that the locals really seem to appreciate our presence. In addition the ski area for cross country skiers is large with over 40km. Boarders may get frustrated with the drag lifts here.
Offslope/apres ski
Apres ski in Maria alm is best described as jolly with plenty of live music and dancing in a few busy bars.
Overview
Great destination for those who want to avoid the queues usually encountered on peak dates, pretty and much under utilised by British skiers.
