Kuhtai Ski Holiday Resort
Overview
The highest village in the Stubai alps sitiing at an impressive 2021m. It is a mere 35kms from Innsbruck which makes this a popular destination with many Austrian and British families owing to the very short transfer and guarantee of snow. A new 8 seat gondola serves 3 quad chairs and several drag lifts serve the mainly red cruisy runs with 500 metres vertical. Accommodation is made up of a collection of comfortable hotels and a chalet hotel with in-house childcare. Mountain restaurants arent really a thing here as it is so easy to ski back to the village for lunch. The new lift pass includes skiing at Hochoetz and the bus service that runs between the two resorts (only taking 12 minutes).
Offslope/apres ski
The apres ski is quiet and mainly centred around hotels although there is a reasonable collection of bars and restaurants in the village. Two bars Dorf Stadle and Alte Stube have live music). ther is now also a nightclub for those wishing to party into the small hours.
Overview
At 2021 metres it is extremely high (for Austria) and offers a reasonable 85 kms of piste on the lift ticket.
