Bad Gastein
Overview
Badgastein sits at the top of the Gastein valley and along with Bad Hofgastein offers a large ski area ideal for intermediates and above. There are beginners ski slopes in the village of Badgastein next to the main Gondola and some good blues on the Schlossalm and Stubnerkogel. Great for on and off piste skiing and in Badgastein the apres ski scene is a big draw for young party goers.
Offslope/apres ski
Badgastein is a mecca for apres ski lovers. Also for off slope diversions the Thermal Spa facilities are very good.
Overview
Yet another Austrian resort that is under used and under valued by UK skiers. We seldom get asked for Badgastein and considering the snow record and the extensive ski area it is suprising. It makes an ideal base for ski weekends and short breaks at affordable prices.
