Selva

Overview

Selva is a good value family resort. With access to the Sella Ronda it has abundant skiing with plenty to suit most levels of skier. Beginners will enjoy excellent gentle nursery slopes on both sides of the valley After a few days the long well groomed runs at Col Raiser can be enjoyed. An essentially intermediate area, skiers can travel huge distances. It is possible to reasonably circumnavigate the Sella Ronda in a day. Natural snowfall has been excellent over the last few seasons and they also have excellent snowmaking facilities so there is never a threat to snow conditions. For boarders Selva offers an excellent terrain park & a couple of half-pipes. The whole area is stunning & there are some beautiful trails from which cross-country skiers can enjoy the views.

Positive

  • Scenic village set in woodland
  • Great value for money
  • Part of the extensive Sella Ronda region
  • Huge variety of runs

Negative

  • Village built on a busy road
  • Infrequent bus service
  • Sella Ronda circuit gets busy

Offslope/apres ski

There are quite a few good mountain huts that pedestrians can access & enables them to meet with skiers for lunch. There’s snow-shoeing, tobogganing, sleigh rides and a sports centre in resort. Apres-ski is good value, plentiful and relatively informal. Further a field Innsbruck is within reach by car, and nearby Ortesei is worth a visit.
