Courmayeur

Overview

Traditional old mountaineering village, with attractive shops and cobbled streets. The ski area is all accessed via the cable car out of the village. There are several good nursery slopes situated at the Plan Checrouit and Maison Vieille. The resort is perfect for intermediate to good skiers with a good choice of testing runs and treeless bowls. For experts the main attraction would be the heliskiing.

Positive

  • Pretty village
  • Good snowmaking
  • Good heliskiing available
  • Stunning views of Mont Blanc

Negative

  • Not a huge ski area
  • Not a lot for experts

Offslope/apres ski

Lots of stylish après ski especially at weekends when the resort livens up considerably. For non skiers there is an indoor ice rink, sports centre, walking and cross country skiing

Our View

Pretty resort nestling between the peaks of Mont Blanc, excellent long weekend destination.
