Ischglin Austria is one of the largest interconnected ski areas (connected with the Swiss tax haven of Samnaun by the aptly named 'Duty-Free' piste) with one of a longest winter season, opening at the end of November with skiing right up until May! There is high-altitude skiing here to suit every ability level.

On top of this huge ski area Ischgl is known for its lively après-ski scene with 59 shops, including sports shops, designer outlets and supermarkets, an amazing 76 restaurants & bars, seven nightclubs, the Silvretta Centre (Leisure Centre) with adventure pool, sauna, solarium & bowling, seven kilometers toboggan run, ice-skating, winter hiking trails & tennis centre. There are many things to keep you entertained when you’re not on the slopes.

If all of that isn’t enough entertainment and you’re in resort at the beginning or the end of the ski season the resort hosts a star-studded concert in honour of the season’s opening and closing. Previous years have seen names like Elton John, Bon Jovi, Rod Stewart, Katy Perry, Kylie Minogue, The Killers, Robbie Williams & 30 Seconds to Mars.

However don’t be fooled to think that the après is all Ischgl has to offer! Being one of the largest interconnected ski areas, it has 238 km of groomed pistes that are served by over 45 state of the art mechanical lifts making the skiing here second to none.

The village itself has three cable cars the Pardatschgratbahn, the Fimbabahn & the Silvrettabahn that take you to Idalp. This is the main central point on the mountain where many of the lifts converge; from here you have access to the rest of the resort by lift or piste. The Idalp is home to the nursery slopes, with many easy to use lifts making it great for beginners or people looking to find their ski legs again.

As well as the nursery slopes this area is home to the Ischgl Snowpark for the braver skiers and snowboarders. The park is split into three areas: Kingsize, Public & Beginner Park, so you can build up your skills or just watch the local pros hitting some of the bigger park features and soaking in the atmosphere.

As the Idalp being the central hub of the mountain it can get busy. With so much ski area on offer, other parts of Ischgl and Samnaun Switzerland are considerably quieter, so it’s well worth going further a field and exploring this beautiful and vibrant resort.

With so much going on you can understand why the resort motto is:

‘Relax!’…If you can!
