The rumour mill in Courchevel has been in overdrive recently with whispers of early opening. So you can imagine our delight when we got confirmation this week that Courchevel will in fact be opening early on Saturday for one special debut day. The Societé des Trois Vallées is opening up Verdons and Combe de Saulire for a taste of early snow for anyone in resort. And seeing this video released yesterday of the first pisted descent we’re raring to go:

First pisted descent
The good news for anyone kicking around resort at the moment is that passes will be free for the day as is parking in resort. They’ve taken this momentous decision after heavy snow last week and fantastic early season snow. And with more snow due this week and the skies looming grey as I type, by Saturday the slopes should be in optimum conditions.
