Okay, it’s true, the silver surfer skiers and snowboarders out there may well have celebrated more birthdays than half of the other people out on the slopes, but no doubt, have tons of experience and a love for the sport that simply cannot be replaced by any fresh faced youth trying out skiing for the first time on a school ski trip.

That’s why, here at Snowfinders, we love nothing more than providing a smashing ski or snowboard holiday for the silver surfers out there. Whether you’re a high-speed, adrenaline-filled silver skier or one of the more steady silver surfers, we’ve picked out our top 5 resorts for the over 50.

Lech, Austria

The perfect location for a more chic and upmarket clientele, Lech is an attractive village with an inclusive feel.

What is particularly great about Lech is the climate is usually very sunny, but still remains extremely snowy for fabulous ski and snowboard conditions.

Although there are no chalets in the centre of the resort, there are two excellent chalet hotels and two chalets in Zug (located 3km from Lech).

What’s more, there are heated chairlifts which makes for a high-quality ski experience, a well-deserved luxury for the silver surfers out there. Don’t you agree?

Lech is suitable for intermediate skiers and snowboarders, and provides tons of opportunities to go off-piste.

Zermatt, Switzerland

At Snowfinders, we think that Zermatt is one of the most stunning ski resorts in the world- and therefore a fabulous resort for the silver surfers out there!

With true charm, as well as alpine history and tradition, Zermatt has a proper mountain (with a point on the top!), called Matterhorn.

Zermatt is a fantastic resort for intermediate and off-piste skiers, and is the perfect choice for the more experienced silver surfer.

Megève, France

Megève is a beautiful village located in the south east of France. An amazing ski resort, situated not far from Mont-Blanc, the classic ski resort is perfect for a vintage silver surfer.

Corvara, Italy

Corvara is the main ski village in the area known as ‘Alta Badia’. It is located in South Tyrol, in northern Italy and is a brilliant place for intermediate skiers. It is also home to nursery slopes for beginners and is a suitable resort for cross-country skiing.

Obergurgl, Austria

Obergurgl is one of the highest ski resorts in Austria and boasts one of the longest (and best!) ski seasons in the Alps.

A traditional village, with a sophisticated up-market feel, the service from hoteliers is second-to-none.

A paradise for intermediate skiers, as well as featuring its own nursery area, Obergurgl also has a choice of off-piste skiing.

Are you interested in at ski holiday at one of the above resorts?

Although we have recommended these ski resorts for the more vintage skiers out there, you don’t have to be a silver surfer to go to these ski resorts, of course!
