Skiing Trips to Norway

Norway offers a very different type of ski holiday than the Alps. Ideal for the skier looking to escape the hurly burly of the large French “Ski Factory” resorts.

The main Norwegian resorts are Voss, Hemsedal, Lillehammer and Geilo and all of these offer skiing holidays with friendly locals who speak perfect English. For Norwegians skiing is a weekend activity so that during the week the above resorts are a lot quieter than we have become used to in the Alps.
Cross-country skiing is a hugely popular activity and is as normal as walking to the Norwegians, so Norway is very popular with cross-country skiers.
The après ski scene will take some getting used to with the prices of alcohol extremely high. However prices otherwise are not as high as one would experience in the Alps.

Accommodation found is self catered apartments that are very popular with the British ski holiday maker, and hotels ranging from the inexpensive 3 stars with good facilities up to the wonderful family run Fleischers luxury 4 star in Voss.
