Skiing Breaks in Bulgaria

Bulgaria is generally seen as an ideal resort for beginners and early intermediates looking for a budget ski holiday.

The main resorts visited by the Brits for their skiing holidays are Pamporova, Bansko and Borovets. In the past the standards have been fairly low with indifferent accommodation, old and slow lifts and appalling food. All of that has changed there has been massive investment in a lot of the Eastern European resorts especially Bansko which had over £20 million spent on lifts and snowmaking . It is the largest area in Bulgaria with 70kms of pisted runs and should be perfectly adequate for all but the true expert skier.
Pamporova and Borovets are smaller resorts with Pamporova being suitable really only for beginners. With 58 km of pistes the resort of Borovets is very good for intermediate skiers.

Accommodation in Bulgaria is varied from budget self-catering apartments and to the luxurious Five Star Kempinski Grand Arena for those looking to treat themselves.
