Overview

Set amongst the pine forests of the Rila Mountains, Borovets really is in a picturesque setting. The skiing is well suited to intermediates that don’t feel the need to cover huge daily mileages. Beginners will soon progress under the guidance of the highly praised local ski school.

Positive

  • Good intermediate ski area
  • Beautiful scenery
  • Excellent ski school

Negative

  • Little for experts
  • Piste grooming can be hit and miss

Offslope/apres ski

Not a lot to do for the non-skier although some of the hotels do offer some very good spa facilities. There is a wide choice of cafes bars and shops.

Our view

Good for the early intermediate on a budget, lift passes, ski hire and tuition are excellent value for money.
