Overview

Plan Peisey & Vallandry are both small villages yet to be developed to their full potential. The Paradiski cable car leaves from Plan-Peisey opening up the whole of the La Plagne ski area as well as having the whole of Les Arcs on your doorstep. Les Arcs is accessed by good lifts, Vallandry having a fast quad to whisk you up. Experts will find themselves drawn up to Arc 2000 to find their thrills but the scope for intermediates with a range of blues & reds is limitless. Peisey-Vallandry is a good place for beginners with a good nursery slope and although there are no greens they should find little problem progressing onto the blues in the area. The pretty Nancroix valley offers 40km of trails for cross-country. Boarders will find wide open slopes to learn on in Vallandry and those more experienced may wish to head further up to find their challenges.

Positive

  • Huge ski area from a small village
  • Great for all levels of skier
  • Excellent access to the Paradiski area

Negative

  • Not much nightlife
  • No green runs
  • Little to do off the slopes

Offslope/apres ski

Vallandry and Plan-Peisey are quiet resorts with little nightlife but both places have a small choice of good locally owned eateries and bars to enjoy. The villages are separated by a few hundred metres and are linked by a shuttle-bus. Vallandry has a small supermarket & ski shop within a small pedestrianised square.
